Aveda - Not so Safe?

(I used this picture because it is the Aveda store in SoHo in New York and I've been there!!)

I'm really upset about this. I use Aveda Shampoo, Conditioner, Hairspray, Heat Protectant, Gel, Face Lotion, Exfoliant, Body Lotion, Purefume Spray, etc (the list goes on and on). I love Aveda!

Part of my reasoning for buying the more expensive products is that they are supposed to be using safer and more eco-friendly ingredients. But finding out that Aveda uses parabens, sodium laureth sulfates, artificial fragrance and petrochemicals in some of their products makes me want to set out to find better products. I will definitely be checking their labels more closely before buying them now. Also, you can check out the Cosmetic Safety Database to see how safe the products you are using actually are!

Does anyone use any products that are better??

I just learned about Aveda when I went to interview for a receptionist position at an Aveda spa. They were really snooty there, but I had a coupon for a free sample of men's shampoo, so I got it for Nathan. Is it safe for him to use?

I heard that about them. Aveda is crap.

I've been using Purology. I'm in love with it. It's a bit more expensive than Aveda, but it's vegan. (Not why I use it.) It's amazing and I think totally worth it. Why not do the best you can with your hair? You have to wear it daily!
