Quote for the Day
“Forget about your lists and do what you can because that’s all you can do. Phone up the people you miss and tell them you love them. Hug those close to you as hard as you can. Because you are always only a drunk driver’s stupidity, a nervous shopkeeper’s mistake, a doctor’s best attempts and an old age away from forever."

MJ
While I understand the reasons people may have reservations about celebrating Michael Jackson, I don't believe it is possible for me to overlook the achievements of his career. What Elvis Presley and The Beatles were to country and rock-and-roll, Michael Jackson was to pop music and pop culture. He is THE pop culture icon. His influence spans all pop music stars who have come after him, from Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake to Chris Brown and Usher. He paved the way for what is now one of the most popular forms of music in our country (hence "pop music").
"Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind."
-John Donne
Paul McCartney: "I feel privileged to have hung out and worked with Michael. He was a massively talented boy man with a gentle soul. His music will be remembered forever and my memories of our time together will be happy ones."
Justin Timberlake: “I can’t find the words right now to express how deeply saddened I am by Michael’s passing. We have lost a genius and a true ambassador of not only pop music but of all music. He has been an inspiration to multiple generations and I will always cherish the moments I shared with him onstage and all of the things I learned about music from him and the time we spent together. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.”
Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump: "I feel like John Lennon got shot. This is sad like 'On the Waterfront,' sad like 'Raging Bull,' sad like 'The Wrestler.' Music rarely gets hits like this; this is almost unparalleled. Even people who didn't enjoy his music have to acknowledge his influences. He was to pop what Davis and Coltrane were to bop. He was to R&B what Neil Armstrong was to the moon: an explorer who discovered a whole world unto itself. He was the Nikola Tesla of dance moves."
More musicians react to his death.
- His record "Thriller" is the 2nd biggest selling record of all time - (trailing a greatest hits compilation of The Eagles)
- "Thriller" stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard charts for 37 weeks - the only non-soundtrack album to do so
- He has the most number 1 hits in the 1980's
- He has sold over 100 million singles and albums
- He is the first person in the history of the Billboard charts to enter in at No. 1 with "You Are Not Alone."
- He has the most No. 1 hits on the Billboard "Hot 100" of any male artist
- He has won more awards than any other artist
- Jackson 5 were the first group to have 4 consecutive No. 1 singles
- He is the only artist to have 5 No. 1 hits from one album - "Bad" (Bad, Dirty Diana, The Way You Make Me Feel, Man in the Mirror, I Just Can't Stop Loving You)
- Throughout his life, he donated more than $300 million to various organizations.

Chosen Design
When Lewis' band went on tour a couple of years ago, we stayed with a family and their friends in Sonora, California. Nina and Ryan were the couple that Lewis and I stayed with. They were absolutely amazing. They were and are such an encouragement to know! They are now my friends on Facebook and I saw that Nina started a shop on Etsy called Chosen Design. She makes adorable - and super cool - onesies!! Check them out here! I definitely plan on buying at least one if not more! I think they're awesome!!

Trailer: The Time Travelers Wife
I read this book last summer and I absolutely loved it. It is one of my favorite books and I've been looking forward to the movie coming out! I don't think they could have picked two people more perfect for those roles. I'm just very excited! If you read - and even if you don't - please read the book first. It is fabulous.

Mission Impossible 4 coming in 2011
It has been reported by a few reports now that Paramount has started development of Mission: Impossible 4. J.J. Abrams & Tom Cruise have not yet confirmed their involvement, but I guess we'll see. I am actually not that excited about this. While I did think MI3 was pretty awesome, I just think 4 installments in this series is pushing it. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?

Annoying YouTube on my blog
It annoys me how my YouTube videos cut stuff off in the right column on my blog. I could manually change the width and height each time, but I don't always take the time to do that. haha
Iran Election
I'm not sure how much you have been reading about or following the Iran Election. I haven't read about it as much as many people, I'm sure, and I don't claim to know everything about the situation, but I know enough to know that it is important that we show support for the Iranian people. My friend Peter posted about this and you can also follow the tweets on Twitter. I've added a gadget in the right column of my blog as well.
New One Tree Hill cast
Robert Buckley has been cast in Season 7 of One Tree Hill. He's supposed to be making up part of the loss of Lucas & Peyton. He'll be playing Nathan's agent.
Supposedly Shantel VanSanten has been cast as Quinn, one of Haley's older sisters.
I'm not sure how I feel about the new characters. Really, it's not them. It's that I'm nervous about the fact that they're doing a 7th season in general. Of course I'll watch it no matter what. I won't even pretend that I'm not going to watch it. haha
