Save Downtown Lexington

Pictures from The Dame's myspace

So I just heard about this through a Facebook group, but I am completely not in favor. The Equestrian Games are really an awesome thing to come to Lexington, but I don't think we should sacrifice everything for it. Obviously we're building up and out everywhere else. Why do we have to tear stuff up downtown?

I don't know all the details, but here's a link. If you live in Lexington, you should be opposed as well.

Evidently there is a meeting on March 4.

I really dont think its a big deal for the "music scene" booo freaking who.. the bar bands have a chance of not having a bar to play in.
Maybe if they didnt sound like Nickleback, they would get booked somewhere else.

for business reasons, im not leaving my name, but you know who this is Makita.

that list gets worse as it goes on, so I guess its neat that the Dame got some bands before they got big. The first few bands on the list wouldn't come back and play here. And you can defend the Dame, because it has gotten some good bands, but not Mias, and not other bars.
OK going to shows is fun, but there are a lot of other places in lexington that have shows and I dont think this is going to effect the scene.
