3rd (Christopher Nolan) Batman Movie News

Christopher Nolan said in an interview that he is working on outlining a 3rd Batman movie, but he hasn't worked out anything yet that he would put on film. He said, "It was obvious when the box office was so big ($530 million domestically) that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise. The worst thing you could do now that you've gotten the plane back in the air is mess up the landing." (Source: IESB.net)

There have been several rumors about possible roles in the 3rd Batman movie including Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin, Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, but now they are saying that Rachel Weisz is being considered to play Catwoman. Considering Christopher Nolan says above that he is just at the beginning stages of even outlining the idea for the 3rd movie in his Batman series, I doubt any of these are very concrete rumors, but what do you think of these options?? Christopher Nolan LA Time Interview
If you're like me, you get very interested in the people behind these big movies that we all know and love. From Peter Jackson with Lord of the Rings, James Cameron with Titanic, Steven Spielberg with...everything, Cameron Crowe with Almost Famous, and Baz Luhrman with Romeo & Juliet or Moulin Rouge, I just love to find out more about the background thoughts and ideas of these people who show such creativity and expertise in making these incredible movies.
This 3-part LA Times interview just really takes us deeper into the thought process of Christopher Nolan while making The Dark Knight. They discuss Heath Ledger, Nolan's favorite scene, and the possibility of the 3rd installment in the series. I definitely think it's a must-read for anyone who loved The Dark Knight.

Dark Knight Box Office Update
The Dark Knight is now officially the biggest opening movie of all time. It made $155.34 million in its opening weekend.Yet another reason why you should go see it!
The Dark Knight Review
So here's the thing about me reviewing this movie - I can't do it very eloquently, mainly because I start thinking about it, get really excited and then lose my words.
It was beyond fabulous. I am finding room for it right now in my top 10 movies of all time. I've got to organize it in my head. Heath Ledger's performance, in my opinion, is legendary. Everything about the movie was perfect. It is too much to really take in at once. We are planning on going to see it again in the IMAX.
You should absolutely go see it, no matter who you are. It will absolutely rock your socks off. It is the best Batman movie ever made. Read the Rolling Stone review as they much more eloquently elaborate on the specifics of the movie.
Here is some interesting information so far about the movie:
It has broken box office records as the biggest midnight-showing movie of all time. It made $18.4 million in just midnight showings, beating Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith which had held the record with $16.9 million.
It has broken box office records as the biggest first day movie of all time. It made $66.4 million on Friday, July 18, beating Spider-Man 3 which had held the record with $59.8 million.
We will find out today if it beat Spider-Man 3 for the biggest opening weekend movie of all time. Spider-Man 3 holds the title so far with $151.11 million.

The Dark Knight Countdown - Caine Frightened of Joker
Michael Caine, who plays Alfred in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, believes that Heath Ledger's Joker was much more frightening than Jack Nicholson's Joker.
