I have now seen Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince twice! I absolutely loved it! I know there are several things that were changed and normally I would probably be upset about it, but I don't like to re-read the Harry Potter books before the movies come out. It helps me be able to take them as two separate things. So while I love love loved the book and will always hold to books being way better than movies, I also loved the movie! I thought it was so funny and then I thought it was so sad and just overall so awesome!

So if you're interested at all in seeing it, DO IT! It's great!! In my opinion.

Bill Nighy in Deathly Hallows!

I've been wondering when this guy would get cast in a Harry Potter movie! It totally makes sense to me! You would know him from Underworld or as Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean. if you watch those. I think he's great! It hasn't been released yet what part he will be playing, but according to The Leaky Cauldron, he will be playing Rufus Scrimgeour - the Minister of Magic that succeeds Cornelius Fudge.

Dumbledore was gay!

Michael Gambon, who is directing the 6th Harry Potter movie which is in production right now, evidently put a reference to a girl in Dumbledore's past into the movie and JK Rowling slipped a note to the director revealing that he can't put that in the movie because Dumbledore was gay. She also publicly revealed this tidbit to a packed crowd at New York's Carnegie Hall recently.

I'm sure he feels a great sense of relief being out of the closet to his adoring public after all these years! Yay!

I have a confession

So I have a very bold statement to make. And it's not one I take lightly. I've actually thought about it a lot. So here goes...

I like the Twilight series better than the Harry Potter series.

EEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK!!

Last night I was on the edge about it, I wasn't sure. But today, I'm positive. It's just amazing.

I'm not saying that I think everyone should think it is better or that I like Harry Potter any less. I just honestly have to say that the Twilight series has rocked my socks off. I was very skeptical of it. I didn't think I would like it.

I highly, highly recommend it. If you like love stories, it's fantastic. If you like an easy read, it's perfect. If you like Buffy, it's an absolute must. But you don't have to like Buffy or vampire stories to like it. It's got something for everyone. Emily is currently reading it.

Anyway, it's a big deal that I like it more than Harry Potter. It's kinda just rocked my world a little that I even think that.

Also, I like Hairspray more than Newsies. That's a big deal, too.

Whatever.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Okay, my excitement is just intense. You have no idea.

Universal Orlando has secured the rights to the Harry Potter stories and are creating The Wizarding World of Harry Potter in the Islands of Adventure section of Universal Orlando. The Harry Potter island will feature the village of Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and even the Hogwarts Castle!! It is set to open in 2009.

(P.S. To my friends who go to haunted house stuff with me & Lew every year - this is where the BIG haunted house stuff is that we've been talking about for the last 2 years!! The Islands of Adventure is where they have that, so maybe there will be some haunted Harry Potter stuff!! haha!)

It would be more of an encyclopedia of sorts, but still...YAY!!!

the final harry potter book

J.K. Rowling posted, in her diary on her website, her thoughts upon finishing the final Harry Potter book. She says that she is both happy and sad, but that the final book is her personal favorite.

I can't wait!




P.S. My personal thoughts: I think that Hermione will die. I'm not sure how I think she will, but I think she will. I also think that Neville will kill Snape or help kill Voldemort. And I also think that McGonagall might die. I want Harry to end up being the next Dumbledore. And I don't know if I believe Dumbledore is dead which means I don't know if I believe that Snape is bad. Hmmmmmm

I dunno, it's just me. Anybody else have any theories??
