When Lewis' band went on tour a couple of years ago, we stayed with a family and their friends in Sonora, California. Nina and Ryan were the couple that Lewis and I stayed with. They were absolutely amazing. They were and are such an encouragement to know! They are now my friends on Facebook and I saw that Nina started a shop on Etsy called Chosen Design. She makes adorable - and super cool - onesies!! Check them out here! I definitely plan on buying at least one if not more! I think they're awesome!!

Attention Lexingtonians: Apartment for Rent!
If you live near Lexington and are interested, my friend Emily has an apartment for rent close to UK's campus! It's recently renovated, in a secure building with a pool. It's 1-bedroom with an open floor plan. Rent is $600 per month and the only utility is KU. It runs less than $30 per month. Some months it's like half that. Blast From the Past
I had a wonderful time in Nashville this past weekend! I went down there with my friend Diana to visit our friend Tanner from high school! We went to a Luna Halo show and we went to dinner with my friends - Bobbi, Madi and Eric! It was just a great weekend!! I love catching up with people!!

7 Reasons Why I'm Crazy
My friend Jessica tagged me on her blog for this "7 Things" post where you post 7 things about yourself that people may not know. While I am pretty talkative and tend to reveal all kinds of things about myself to people, I'll be hard-pressed to find 7 things that NO ONE knows about me, but I'll do my best.
1. I had a pink dress and pink hair for my senior prom. Actually everyone who went knows this, but it was hideous and one of my more embarrassing memories.
2. When I get bored, I play entire Friends episodes in my head. There are about 4 that I can see and hear scene-for-scene, word-for-word in my head.
3. As much as I love movies and tv, there are only a few celebrities for whom I would actually freak out if I met them. I would either freeze up and just stare and not move or I might cry.
4. I have never been fishing. Ever.
5. If someone tells me that they don't listen to music, I secretly lose all interest in them as a human being. I don't understand that at all. Everyone has to listen to some kind of music.
6. I never work out and I have only gained a total of 13 pounds since graduating high school. I don't know why and I'm secretly waiting for it to catch up to me.
7. The only time I'm completely honest is when I've been drinking (which isn't very often). I hold way more back than people think I do.
Honorable Mention: I saw Twilight 5 times in the theater and I have plans to see it one more time at the dollar theater. And I still can't give it over a C rating. I do not sincerely believe there is crack in that storyline. I am in the process of reading the series for the 2nd time.

Mama Smors
I like to share my friends' blogs with the people who may read my blog and I can't remember if I already told you all about Sarah's blog or not, so just in case I'm telling you now.Sarah and I have a lot of friends in common. From the time I was in early high school I think, we've been running into each other left and right because of friends we both knew. Mozy
My email tends to get clogged up pretty quickly with general emails and ideas and requests from people for different things. I have known about this one for a while and it just somehow got lost in my email...My friend Peter started a new blog, Kaintuckeean. Check it out!
But one of the things he posted about a little while ago was a program called Mozy that allows you to back up all of your documents in case something happened to your computer. The program automatically backs up all your files every couple of days so if you forget, it is all still taken care of. Read Peter's post about it. I'm definitely thinking about checking it out!!

I think this is the way we should all think of our friendships - if they are real friendships. I wonder sometimes how strong a friendship can be if you don't really trust someone. I feel incredibly blessed to know that I have some friendships that are stronger than my darkest moments and are not limited by my inability to be everything I should be. Friendships should be places we are free to be honest and open. We should never be afraid that what we say or do will break them because they are stronger than all of that. I have some friends I trust completely with my secrets, my fears, my struggles, my mistakes, my past and my future. I hope you have some similar friendships in your life.

Approval Rating
Sara posted this and it really made me think a lot!! It's an interesting question that I think she found on another site: "Would my teenage self approve of who I am today?"
After some thought, here's what I have concluded:
Teenage Cameron would approve of my friends. Diana, Allison and Emily are still a big part of my life just as they were in high school, so I know that teenage me would be happy about that. BUT, teenage Cameron would also not approve of some of the choices I've made with friends through the years. There are a few people, like my friend Liz, who have slipped a little too far out of reach. I am pretty sure that teenage Cameron would give the current Cameron a pretty strongly-worded piece of her mind on this topic if she had a chance.
Teenage Cameron would approve of my choice in career: teacher. It's always seemed to be where I knew I would end up anyway. It just fits me. Hopefully within 2 years I'll actually be teaching and not still in school, which leads me to my next conclusion:
Teenage Cameron would not be very happy with how long it has taken me to get through school. 'Nuff said. Goodness gracious!
Teenage Cameron would not approve of my husband. This is not to say that I didn't pick a fabulous one! Teenage Cameron did not have the best taste in boys. Lewis and I have discussed several times about how if we had met just 2 years earlier, we wouldn't have liked each other because we were different people. The timing was perfect for things to end up the way they did.
Teenage Cameron would approve of my style. I think I've maintained my ability to care, but not care in terms of style. I've had to grow up a little bit and start to dress more appropriately, but I still think it's pretty clear that I don't necessarily fit in the preppy-mold.
Teenage Cameron would want me to be more fearless. While pink hair and pink dress at my senior prom will haunt me forever, at least I was fearless enough to step out and do something like that. In high school, I would wear my mom's old blue jeans from the 70's and a plaid button-down from Goodwill just because I was comfortable and felt sort-of cute. Now, I am nowhere near that fearless - in almost any aspect of my life. Teenage Cameron would do a little butt-kicking in that area if she could see me now.
Overall, we are who we are for a reason. Things change for a reason. I miss teenage Cameron sometimes. The fearlessness, the sincerity, the craziness, the ability to actually SAY what I'm thinking, they're all things I wish I still had, but I don't. Life beats a lot of things out of you. But I'm still loved by the people who want to and I'm still friends with the people who have stuck around no matter what. I'm still that girl at heart and no matter what, I am who I am today because of who I was back then.

Christmas Music Recommendations
Jaye (the fabulous designer of my blog logo and layout) posted some Christmas music recommendations on his blog!! My dad always makes a Christmas CD every year and it's pretty much the highlight of my holiday. I look forward to it every year!! I kinda want a best-of set this year (dad, I know you read this...start thinking about it!!).
My 2 favorite Christmas cd's are still Amy Grant Home for Christmas (favorite song = "Breath of Heaven") and Mariah Carey Merry Christmas. I'm aware that neither of them are very creative - but they're classy.
But - big loser that I am - one of my favorite Christmas songs ever is Air Supply "Love is All." Yep, seriously. Throw up all over me if you want, I think it rocks and it reminds me of Christmas growing up.

My Halloween Costume...
I will have on a long dress and I will be accompanied by 4 baby-dolls (white, black, and 2 asian).
(Oh and I plan on pooching my belly out as much as possible to be pregnant as well. It will be a food baby, but still...)
Lewis will be Brad Pitt. He'll carry one of the Asian ones around a lot.
