Defending Buffy

Jess d'Arbonne posted an essay that is a defense of Buffy for the person who has never seen it or been interested in watching it. I love that she takes the general arguments that most people have again Buffy and presents an alternative and intelligent point of view. I would love it if everyone would at least give Buffy a chance, but I've never been able to defend it the way she does. If you are a regular reader of my blog or a personal friend of mine, please read it! I feel like it explains me in a way.

Defending Buffy to the Uninitiated

Good article! I also liked that she made a couple of references to Battlestar Galactica, which is my current obsession and to me the best show since Buffy. And I'm not a sci fi fan.

Great breakdown there. Anyone who doesn't see the useful metaphors in the show and mythology isn't looking hard enough. Mentioning X-Men was great. I'm a huge fan and am drawn to both X-Men and BVS for many of the same reasons. Love it or hate it, it's out there!
