Death Cab for Cutie - Meet Me on the Equinox

I like it that Death Cab did a song for New Moon. The soundtrack for Twilight was one of the only things that redeemed the movie for me. I hated pretty much everything about the movie, but then you put the music on it and I think that's what eventually won me over to the point where I could deal with it. I hope the soundtrack for the second one does the same. Death Cab is at least a good start. Click here for a full list of songs from the soundtrack to New Moon. It has Thom Yorke, Muse & Bon Iver!!

I think this looks really good! It's directed by the same guy that directed Juno, Jason Reitman. I love George Clooney & I'm interested in the fact that Anna Kendrick from Twilight is in it! What do you think?

Diablo Cody is going to adapt the Sweet Valley High book series into a movie! I loved those books when I was growing up!! And I love Diablo Cody!! I'll love the movie!


Stephenie Meyer has another book being made into a movie: The Host! I still haven't made it through the book yet, but I will before the movie comes out!!

Thoughts on TV Shows Last Week

First of all, in continuation of this post, 90210 and Vampire Diaries are still totally on my good side! Vampire Diaries in particular is just knocking my socks off! I got the first 2 books of that series on Friday and I've already finished the first one! Yay!!!

One Tree Hill
This one was okay. It was pretty much what I expected without Peyton & Lucas. It's captured my attention enough to keep watching it, but I don't expect great things as of right now. I do like the 2 new characters so far! That's good! I don't like what they're doing with Dan at all and I'm not looking forward to the Nathan storyline, but I guess they've got to add some drama now that Peyton is gone. We'll see how it goes...

Gossip Girl
This was great! I love Chuck & Blair! I'm cool with the rest of the stuff they're setting up right now! I really like this show and I'm excited about this season!!! I'm a little nervous about Hilary Duff being on the season later, but I'm sure it'll be okay. I did alright with Michelle Trachtenberg.

Jay Leno
I'm not super obsessed with the new Jay Leno show so far. I do like the 10 at 10 thing. That's pretty much all my comments on that as of right now.

Bones
Oh, Bones how I missed you!! I was not super thrilled with this episode, but I have complete faith in this show and I just love love love it as a whole!! I do wish that Booth & Brennan would just deal with the crap and finally get together. I'm annoyed with it and I just don't know how long they can drag that out. We're going into the 5th season now!!! Give us some Booth & Brennan action!!! Some legitimate, not dreaming action please!! But I still loved it. I think Booth is so funny now that he's come back from surgery and not exactly acting like himself. It's going to be a good season!

Community
I thought this one started out kinda rough for me, but by the end of it, I was loving it!! My favorite character is Abed, played by Danny Pudi. Yes, I know my favorite character should be Joel McHale, but it just isn't. If you watched the episode - my favorite part was when Abed was sitting there as everyone was mouthing words to each other behind Jeff's (McHale) back and Abed goes, "What's going on?!? Can you all hear me?!? Am I deaf?!?" hahaha I laughed so hard and I kept laughing after the episode was over! Yay!

Thoughts on TV Shows Last Week

90210

This premiere was actually great in my opinion! Last season, I was on the fence about whether or not I wanted to watch it when it came back on. I'm happy to say, it sucked me right back in!


Melrose Place
I didn't like this one. I partially thought the acting wasn't great, I also partially thought the story just wasn't that interesting to me, and mainly I just thought it was too much. It was just too much sex & drama with not enough actual good show quality to keep me interested. I will not be watching anymore episodes.


The Vampire Diaries
Now, this is a show that I didn't plan on watching. If you look back at my blog, you'll notice I haven't even mentioned it. I just wasn't interested at all. Then Friday night rolls around & I'm in my room bored while Lewis is playing a video game & I decide to see what's on TV. The most interesting thing was an encore presentation of The Vampire Diaries pilot episode. So I figured I didn't really have anything to lose. Within 10 minutes, I found myself sitting there going, "Dang it!! This is awesome!!!!!" It was very unexpected. But then I found myself thinking about it the rest of the night & talking about it today!! So if you're interested in a new show - check out The Vampire Diaries on the CW. There is another showing of the pilot Sunday at 8 I think. Check your local listings!!

Saturday Night Live is adding two more cast members this season! Last year they added Abby Elliott, Michaela Watkins & Bobby Moynihan. This year they are adding Jenny Slate & Nasim Pedrad. TV Guide has information on both actresses. I'm excited to see what they will do!!

Watch Buffy Before You Die

Television Without Pity chose their 5 shows to watch before you die & 5 shows to avoid. Buffy is on their list of ones to watch!! I love it!!!!!

There is already some Oscar buzz about Michelle Monaghan's performance in Trucker! I think it looks great! I will definitely see it!

My 2 new favorite things...

So I bought tons of new makeup yesterday for my birthday!! My grandfather gave me birthday money, so I went to MAC & Sephora!! I ended up getting 8 eye shadows, a paint pot, the eyeliner that you put on with a brush, a set of brushes from Sephora & Tina got me some blush from Sephora for my bday! It was the best day!!! But now I've developed 2 new obsessions online...

I am also getting my hair cut tomorrow & I think I'm going to cut it like Kandee's. Not to be a copycat or anything, but I'm about to be a mom & I want a fancy new haircut to go with my fancy new makeup so I'll be a cute mom!!

8 Things I Want to do Before I'm 30

I turned 25 yesterday!!! Apparently today I'm closer to 30 than I am to 20. Somehow that just doesn't bother me at all! But it does make me think about my long-term plans! So I decided to make a list of the things I want to do before I'm 30!

1. Get my Masters Degree.
I know that as a teacher, I have 10 years from the time I start teaching to get it, but I'd like it to be done in 5 so that before I'm 40 I can have my Rank 1!

2. Finish having children.
By this I mean finish GIVING BIRTH to children. I'd be okay if I was pregnant when I'm 30, but I don't want to get pregnant after 30. Also, this doesn't include adopting children. Lewis and I have talked about adoption a lot. I could see us having 2 or 3 biological children and then adopting 1. I think adoption is a really incredible thing and I believe that if you have the resources & most importantly the heart to do it, you absolutely should.

3. Be in a home I could stay in.
I don't want to move around every couple of years. I want to end up in the home I could just stay in for 10, 15, 40 years. I want to be in this home by the time I'm 30.

4. Travel overseas.
I've never been anywhere that requires a passport. I would like to travel to Japan or Europe before I'm 30. Just once. Maybe I'll go again later in life, but I want to go at least once before I'm 30.

5. Learn a 2nd language.
I really probably need to learn to speak Spanish. But I'm also interested in learning Sign Language. Or reviving my French from High School.

6. Learn to make the best something.
Lewis always says, "my mom makes the best _______" or others will say "my grandmother makes the best _______." I want to make the best something! It can be as easy as chocolate chip cookies! But I want to find my signature meal!!

7. Develop a list of must-see movies & watch them all.
So far, off the top of my head, I need to watch these: Reservoir Dogs, Goodfellas, Trainspotting, Blade Runner, Life is Beautiful

8. Develop a list of must-read books & read them all.
So far, again off the top of my head, I need to read these: The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Trainspotting, On the Road, Of Mice and Men, A Tale of Two Cities, The Great Gatsby


That's all I've got for now. If I think of more, I'll add them.
