I don't know about you, but struggling with depression and lately anxiety has been a constant struggle in my life. I can put on a happy face when I need to, but sometimes it gets hard to make it through the day. I know I'm not the only one!
My main issue while dealing with this problem is that I am not a big fan of prescription medication to cure my depression and anxiety. Not that I am against medicine at all, it works very effectively for some people. But I don't like the idea of having to get a prescription to feel better. I have always been much more inclined to use natural remedies, such as St. John's Wort and Ginkgo Biloba. These have worked very well for me! My friend Emily just told me about Fish Oil, too. She was told it is very effective as well!!
Here are some new natural depression remedies that I've just learned about:
- Exercise - the American Psychological Association says it helps you ditch depression.
- Bach Rescue Remedy - made using 5 flower essences ($17).
- Sun-A-Lux Mini - low wattage and low on scary electromagnetic fields ($180). Or just make sure you get about 10 minutes of sun exposure each day.
- Jigsaw Health B w/ SRT - sustained-release so you get B power all day long ($15). Or, get it in whole grains, fruits, dairy products, fish and leafy green veggies.
- Nature's Bounty Vitamin D - take D when you're low on sun ($4). Or, get it in fish, eggs and milk.

a lot of herbal remedies can interfere with your birth control... make sure to check it out before you start using them.
ooooo janine, good point!! definitely don't need anything interfering with that right now!!
yeah my doctor has told me not to take st. john's wort because it can make birth control ineffective...i don't understand how something natural can interfere with that stuff...bah.
I bought fish oil pills and it suppose to help with depression/allergies which we both have! hehe but I also took Zinc this morning for allergies/acne something made me nausious. but it could have a different effect on you! I am going to take only one tomorrow to see which it was!
Cameron, thanks so much for the link to Jigsaw Health's Activated B w/SRT. (I'm the co-founder and president btw.)
Our bodies rely on B vitamins for so many functions. B12 is especially helpful for the brain.
That said, depression is a very difficult condition to fix because it can be rooted in so many things. I strongly recommend reading through our research article on depression.
You can also read about our Neuro Bundle which includes Activated B w/SRT, 5-HTP, and L-Tyrosine.
Hope that helps and thanks again for the link. :)
PS - Emily, it was probably the Zinc that made you feel nauseous, especially if you took it on an empty stomach. Taking just about any mineral on an empty stomach will make you feel nauseous.
