One Tree Hill Season 7
I haven't seen this week's episode yet, so this doesn't really relate to anything so far, but it was confirmed last week.
Chad Michael Murray says he is NOT coming back.
Thoughts?
My thoughts: he seems like a total jerk in the video. (Click the link above.)

Oscars Oscars Oscars
So the Academy announced that the 2010 Oscars will take place in March because of the 2010 winter Olympic games. I'm okay with this. I will totally be all about some Olympics and then all about some Oscars! It'll be great!
And while we speak of Oscars, I can't remember if I posted this yet or not, but either way it relates, so enjoy. LA Times has a list of movies to watch for in 2009 as the front-runners in the Oscar race!
And still on the topic of Oscars, FilmJunk has a list of the 10 Worst Performances from Oscar-Winning Actors. My faves on the list are Cuba Gooding Jr and Forest Whitaker. haha

Zac Efron no longer in Footloose remake
Just so you know, Zac Efron is no longer going to be starring in the Footloose remake. The movie is still being made without him, but has dropped quite a few levels for me now in interest. We'll see who replaces him.
Can I also say - on the topic of Footloose - that I watched Hot Rod for the first time this weekend and my favorite part was the Footloose dance remake! Hilarious!

Andy Samberg hosting MTV Movie Awards
I'm excited! I think Andy Samberg is hilarious and he'll do great hosting the MTV Movie Awards! Much better than the awkward-ness that was Sarah Silverman a couple of years ago. Eek! I hope him & Justin Timberlake do some sort of performance together!

Let's Talk About American Idol
Love them:
Matt Giraud
He reminds me of a more blues-y, piano playing Justin Timberlake. I really like him a lot!
Danny Gokey
He seems like a genuinely nice guy and he can sing!! He sings stuff that I expect to sound just horrible and he always pulls it off!
Hate them:
Adam Lambert
He tries to act so hardcore, but omg he's such a freaking poser. I think he looks ridiculous and I don't like him at all. He's way too theatrical - and I like theatrical! And I've been to a hardcore show. If he showed up at a hardcore show, he would get his butt kicked.
Michael Sarver
He's a nice guy and I like the family-man thing and he can sing just fine, but his days are numbered. I don't think he should have stayed over Alexis. She definitely deserved to be in the Top 10 more than he does.
Anoop Desai
He can definitely sing, but he just doesn't seem very creative or unique. I'm bored with him.
Honorable mentions:
Allison Iraheta
I think she does awesome with the songs like the Heart song that she sang. I want her to do more stuff like that! Her voice is awesome! She reminds me of Kelly Clarkson.
Megan Joy
With the exception of her just hideous dance moves, I think Megan is unique and I really like her voice - although I would prefer to just see still pictures of her and then listen to her cd. Sometimes when she is on stage I feel really awkward about her performances.
Scott MacIntyre
I have a soft spot for him. While I don't think he will win, I do enjoy the way he plays piano and the things he does. He's very Billy Joel for me.

Deadpool
This post is for my husband, Lewis. Deadpool is one of his favorite comic book characters and so we've been really excited about his character being in the new Wolverine movie. And we've been really excited that Ryan Reynolds is playing Deadpool!
So Ryan Reynolds did an interview where he was talking about the character in the movie. He says that Deadpool in the movie is more a portrayal of Wade Wilson who becomes Deadpool. "Well, it's an origin story, so again I don't consider myself playing Deadpool. I'm the thing that will eventually become Deadpool. But yea, he's scarred up. You're gonna see the scars. That's all in there." He also said that he has been approached for a Deadpool movie, but he's waiting to discuss that until after X-Men Origins: Wolverine comes out. "I've had a couple of people approach me about meetings for a Deadpool movie, but I think it's absurd to think that way until this movie comes out."

Another Friend Quote for the Day
I need to preface by saying that the pest control people were at our office spraying today. They spray every other month. So I'm sitting at a desk next to Mechelle today and I hear this noise that sounded like water spraying, but I couldn't figure out why.
Me: "What is that noise?!?"
Mechelle: "I think somebody just pissed on the floor in there."
Then in walks the pest control guy and he joined in laughing with us as he heard what she said.

Me: "The oldest son on Weeds is so cute. He dated Mary-Kate Olsen on the show. She played a Christian, and she smoked pot."

Then we laughed for like 5 minutes.

Defending Buffy
Jess d'Arbonne posted an essay that is a defense of Buffy for the person who has never seen it or been interested in watching it. I love that she takes the general arguments that most people have again Buffy and presents an alternative and intelligent point of view. I would love it if everyone would at least give Buffy a chance, but I've never been able to defend it the way she does. If you are a regular reader of my blog or a personal friend of mine, please read it! I feel like it explains me in a way.

One Tree Hill: You Me and the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight
I have a couple of friends who are still catching up with the current season, so I don't want to say a lot, but I do want to say that I have been a solid supporter of the show this season. While I LOVED the first several episodes, I didn't love the ones in the middle, but then I felt that it redeemed itself with the episode right before the winter break. I always had faith that it would come back around, though. Now, with this week's episode, I'm not so excited. It's taken a turn that I don't like and I feel like it's preparing us for next season in ways I don't agree with. They did officially announce that Season 7 WILL BE happening, which would be awesome except I think a couple of people aren't returning and I don't like it. They need the 5 main characters for it to really work.
So, I just needed to voice to all of you that I'm annoyed. We'll see how it goes.

Twilight Saga News!
So I posted about the rumor that Drew Barrymore was interested in directing the third installment in the Twilight series: Eclipse. Apparently that idea blew right on by and now Juan Antonio Bayona, director of The Orphanage, has signed on to direct Eclipse. I keep getting more and more interested in what they're doing to the later movies, especially now as he will be directing the third one. I definitely think I will like the movie versions more if they work on the special effects. Seeing how they should definitely have plenty of money to work with now, I have high expectations for the rest of the movies.
I've also waited to post about Dakota Fanning being cast as Jane in New Moon because I am just not all that crazy about it. It's fine, I guess. It just didn't really knock my socks off to hear that she was chosen for that role. I would be fairly excited about Vanessa Hudgens being cast as Leah Clearwater, though! But I don't think it's going to happen. Oh well.

More Horror Movie Remakes in the Future
After the success of the Friday the 13th remake this year, more horror movies are going to be remade! Nightmare on Elm Street will hit the big screen on April 16, 2010. I had already heard rumors of this one, but I just found out that they are now remaking Stephen King's It! I definitely will not be seeing any of these as I do not watch scary movies, but I do think it's interesting that they're remaking all of these! I know my husband liked the new Friday the 13th. What do you think about remaking old horror movies?

The Wonderful Maladys
Sarah Michelle Gellar is poised to star in a new HBO show called The Wonderful Maladys. It is being written by Charles Randolph, best known for the feature films The Life of David Gale and The Interpreter. The show was initially announced in September, but there were just two new actors added to the cast.
The show was written with Gellar in mind and it will focus on the lives of 3 adult siblings who lost their parents at an early age. SMG will play the middle sibling, described by Charles Randolph as having "a kind of zealous immaturity -- like a drug addict with a to-do list." Nate Corddry (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) & Molly Parker (Deadwood) were just added as Gellar's siblings on the show, so it looks like everything is moving forward! I'm excited about a new tv show with SMG in it! I love her!

Tees For Change is a company that sells eco-friendly, sustainable t-shirts. For every t-shirt that you buy, they plant a tree. Treehugger posted a longer and more detailed description. I just wanted to give you enough info to know that they rock. Basically your money goes to help the environment and you get an awesome t-shirt with an uplifting message made out of organic material. I love companies like this that allow you to help while also allowing you to get something awesome to remind yourself and others of what we can do.
