For the SMG/Buffy Fans

If you're a Buffy fan like me, it's likely that you see all the movies Sarah Michelle Gellar is in, even if they suck (like Southland Tales).

Click here to see the trailer for her newest movie, Veronika Decides to Die.

I've mentioned it before. I definitely want to read the book and see the movie!

Movies I Watched This Weekend

Clerks II

I like the first one better, but I always enjoy a Kevin Smith movie. Jay & Silent Bob are my favorite. I think they're hilarious.

Mallrats
Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith, Joey Lauren Adams, Claire Forlani, Shannen Doherty, Ben Affleck - I mean, it's Kevin Smith in all his glory. I love this movie. I think it's hilarious! Jason Lee is my favorite in it. I think he's so cute. I love the guy who can't see the sailboat, too. I don't know how many times I've seen this movie, but it came on again on HBO and I had to watch it!

Jerry Maguire
I only saw the last half of this one, like I already posted this weekend. I love it. I never quite get enough of Cameron Crowe. The music is my favorite.

Holiday in Handcuffs
Melissa Joan Hart & Mario Lopez on ABC Family. AWESOME. haha I love ABC Family Christmas movies! They're so cheesy and awesome that it's just amazing.

Oceans 13
Lewis watches the Oceans movies every single time they are on. I can't count how many times I've seen them. This weekend Oceans 13 was on, so of couse we watched it. I think Lewis may even have watched it twice. I'm not sure why.

Step Brothers
Lewis and I watched this on Sunday night. I wasn't a huge fan. Parts were funny, though.

Also - I read The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Lucky One this weekend! Yay!

Untitled Cameron Crowe Project postponed?

According to Reese Witherspoon, the Untitled Cameron Crowe Project that stars her & Ben Stiller has been postponed. I'm hoping not for long, though because I can't wait for it!!! I love his stuff!

Feminization of Males due to Chemicals and Pollution

I've heard a lot about this lately. Due to many environmental factors including food (meat), cosmetics, plastics, etc. are causing feminization of men, including smaller sexual organs, lower sperm count, and less boys being born as opposed to girls. Also, due to a number of environmental factors, male fish and amphibians are starting to be born with eggs in their testes, among other gender-bending changes. I've investigated it over the past few months, but I thought I'd give you all a few links to check out for yourself. It's really something we should all be aware of. What we put on and into our bodies really does affect our lives.

3rd (Christopher Nolan) Batman Movie News

Christopher Nolan said in an interview that he is working on outlining a 3rd Batman movie, but he hasn't worked out anything yet that he would put on film. He said, "It was obvious when the box office was so big ($530 million domestically) that we had underestimated how ready fans were to reboot the franchise. The worst thing you could do now that you've gotten the plane back in the air is mess up the landing." (Source: IESB.net)

There have been several rumors about possible roles in the 3rd Batman movie including Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin, Johnny Depp as The Riddler and Angelina Jolie as Catwoman, but now they are saying that Rachel Weisz is being considered to play Catwoman. Considering Christopher Nolan says above that he is just at the beginning stages of even outlining the idea for the 3rd movie in his Batman series, I doubt any of these are very concrete rumors, but what do you think of these options?? Quotes for the Day

“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanely sensitive. To them… a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create — so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, their very breath is cut off… They must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency they are not really alive unless they are creating.”
-Pearl Buck

“We cling to music, to poems, to quotes, to writing, to art, because we desperately do not want to be alone. We want to know we aren’t going crazy and someone else out there knows exactly how you’re feeling. We want someone to explain the things we can’t. We love everything tied up neatly, easy, simple, and when we can’t do that, it scares the hell out of us. To not know the next step, or where you’re headed, kills. Being unsure isn’t in our plans. But its those moments, the ones where you risk it and step unknowingly into the future that assures us life is larger than we’ll ever know.”

“I think music is probably the most directly impactful art form. I mean, it’s the one that, within three minutes, you can find yourself screaming at the top of your lungs and banging your fists. And a novel never does that.”
-Jonathan Safran Foer

Mozy

My email tends to get clogged up pretty quickly with general emails and ideas and requests from people for different things. I have known about this one for a while and it just somehow got lost in my email...

My friend Peter started a new blog, Kaintuckeean. Check it out!

But one of the things he posted about a little while ago was a program called Mozy that allows you to back up all of your documents in case something happened to your computer. The program automatically backs up all your files every couple of days so if you forget, it is all still taken care of. Read Peter's post about it. I'm definitely thinking about checking it out!!

Chris Weitz to Direct New Moon

Chris Weitz has officially been chosen to direct New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. Chris has directed The Golden Compass and About a Boy, although he has produced several movies including Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and all the American Pie movies.

I think it's an interesting choice. I'm not really sure how I feel about it, but I felt good about Catherine Hardwicke doing Twilight and that didn't quite work out how I would have preferred, so we'll see.

Secret Garden

I watched the last half of Jerry Maguire today. I love love love Cameron Crowe and I love this movie, even though I don't really like Tom Cruise. I love Cameron Crowe enough to love the movie regardless. I love the soundtrack the most. His soundtracks just make the movies amazing. Bruce Springsteen's Secret Garden is one of my favorite songs from a movie ever. Watch the best video here, but embedding is disabled so I can only post this one on here...

Movie News: Wolverine, New Moon!

Click here for pictures from the new Wolverine movie!

Click here for some info on the Twilight sequel, New Moon. Catherine Hardwicke was fired and the next order of business once a new director is chosen is to decide whether or not Taylor Lautner would still be playing Jacob. For any of you who read New Moon, you know that Lautner is too small to play Jacob in any of the other books. It's a big deal and one of my least favorite things about Jacob in this movie. I knew he was okay for the first one, but he just doesn't fit for the second one.

What do you think? Do you think Taylor Lautner could play a 6'5'', super huge Jacob in New Moon?

Quotes for the Day

"Water is fluid, soft, and yielding. But water will wear away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield. As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft, and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard. This is another paradox: what is soft is strong."
-Lao-Tzu

“Among other things, you’ll find that you’re not the first person who was ever confused and frightened and even sickened by human behavior. You’re by no means alone on that score, you’ll be excited and stimulated to know. Many, many men have been just as troubled morally and spiritually as you are right now. Happily, some of them kept records of their troubles. You’ll learn from them - if you want to. Just as someday, if you have something to offer, someone will learn something from you. It’s a beautiful reciprocal arrangement. And it isn’t education. It’s history. It’s poetry.”
-Catcher in the Rye

"There are moments that mark your life, moments when you realize nothing will ever be the same. And time is divided into two parts, before this and after this."
-Unknown
