Google has introduced a new product for website owners - Google Friend Connect. It's a way to use social features to your site, similar to Facebook, without writing code. It allows you to interact with visitors to your site and also attract more visitors. Currently it is still in the Preview/Trial phase. 5 Reasons to Watch One Tree Hill

Named after a U2 song and just as rockin', One Tree Hill has defied the critics, survived the UPN-WB merger and - with a post-high-school jump four years into the future this season - redefined its teen-soap image. Now, as the gang heads out of their fifth season amid a storm of adult angst ranging from Brooke's adoption heartbreak to Haley's music-career breakthrough, it's clear that OTH is one hot spot still worth visiting. Here's why.

1. It's the little show that could.
OTH has always been under the ratings radar. But thanks to its Web-savvy fans, including the 300,000-plus members of Facebook's Addicted to One Tree Hill site, the show makes up for its lack of Nielson numbers with an online visibility other nets would give their repo'd bionic women for. "Viewers save [this] show...all the critics in the world can't save a show that nobody is watching," exec producer Mark Schwahn says.

2. It's softer than your average soap.
Sudsy without being splashy, and unabashedly emotional (nobody cries better than Hilarie Burton), OTH's distinctive pace moseys along, unlike that of The O.C. "What's funny is networks never want [you] to slow down," Schwahn says. "It's not a sexy concept." Maybe not, but knowing - and respecting - your audience is.

3. The kids are all right...as grown-ups.
"Being twenty-something is a great, messy time in life," says Schwahn of fast-forwarding past the gang's college years. Not only did this spare us the 90210-ish forced inanity of the gang attending the same school, but it also put the cast closer to their own ages, turning OTH into "more of a universal show, rather than a teen drama."

4. History actually matters.
The time warp also gave diehards a payoff by fulfilling the characters' teen dreams. Emo babe Peyton (Burton) now runs an indie label, "Tutor Girl" Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) is Tree Hill High's hottest teacher, and fashionista Brooke (Sophia Bush) has her Clothes Over Bros line. "If you change [too much], you might as well create a new show," explains Schwahn. Plus, if Lucas didn't publish after all of Chad Michael Murray's lit-inspired voice-overs, Burton wouldn't have been the only one crying.

5. Love is always in the air.
Whether you're Team Nathan/Haley (James Lafferty, Galeotti) or just falling for misfits Mouth and Millicent (Lee Norris, Lisa Goldstein), OTH is all about couples you can adore. Even potentially doomed ones. "Lucas and Peyton have a very classic, romantic architecture," Schwahn says. "That doesn't mean it will work out." What it does mean is we can expect their on-again, off-again romance to go on (and off) well into next season.

This site provides a community of readers. You can find book reviews, online book clubs, or just share your thoughts on a book with others.


6. Menupages.com
If you live in a bigger city, this is the site to use if you are looking for somewhere new to eat! Arranged by style of food and by location, it lists restaurants in your area!


7. DontForgetYourToothbrush.com
This site provides checklists for your upcoming vacation or trip. Just log in, tell it where you are going, and it helps you figure out a list of what you need to do and bring.


8. VolunteerMatch.com
This site provides a way to find volunteer opportunities in your area that are centered around your area of interest or expertise. Log on to find out where you are needed!


9. Fatsecret.com
Think of it like facebook, but for losing weight. Log on and create a profile, you can be connected with others who are trying to lose weight or diet. You can find information on different diet styles, keep a journal of your fitness routine, and find recipes!

It's David vs. David. I'm voting for David Cook and you should, too! I have reasons:

1. Although David Archuleta is a wonderful singer, David Cook is very original and diverse and deserves the title of American Idol as he would appeal to a wider range of people.

2. The Chris Brown debacle last week really did me in for David Archuleta. He could not pull off singing that song, BUT I think that if David Cook sang the same song, he would have been able to find a way to do it in a unique and interesting way and not come off looking like an idiot.

3. Although I'm not 100% sure the reasoning behind David Archuleta's dad being banned from helping him prepare for performances, I do think that he offered a lot of help - help that the other contestants did not receive. David Cook was able to develop on his own.


So, here is my request. Whether you watch the show or not, PLEASE vote for David Cook! For me!! I will not watch American Idol anymore if David Archuleta wins because that means that the 12-year old teeny-boppers rule the world and I'm just not okay with that. If you have unlimited text messaging as I do, you can text the word "vote" to the number I tell you. It will probably be 5701 because David Cook is going first on Tuesday.

What Happens in Vegas Movie Review

What Happens in Vegas was a huge surprise to me. I had seen the previews, thought they looked pretty funny, but wasn't really impressed. I was planning on renting it when it came out. It just so happened that all my friends wanted to see that one night, so we went. It was much better than I had expected! It's clear from the previews what the plot is; a guy gets fired, a girl gets dumped, they both decide separately to alleviate their pain by jetting off to Vegas. They meet, get drunk, spend a wild night together which ends in marriage. The next morning, over their break-up conversation, he uses her quarter in a slot machine and wins $3 million! Because they are married, they are legally each entitled to half. They go to court and are ordered to spend the next 6 months - married - before the money will be available to them.

Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz are incredibly funny, even more than normal. Ashton Kutcher hasn't always been my favorite as he always was a little more slapstick sort of funny than I liked. They were both right where they needed to be in this movie, playing off of each other for an outcome that was hilarious and adorable. There were tons of 1-liners that I will probably be saying for a while to come. Their friends, played by Rob Corddry and Lake Bell actually steal the scenes in some parts. I laughed more at them sometimes than at Kutcher & Diaz.

It's definitely worth seeing if you're in the mood to laugh. Why? YOU KNOW WHY! (Just see the movie)

Iron Man Movie Review

The new big screen adaptation of the comic book series, Iron Man, is surprisingly riveting. I went into it with moderate expectations, and was very impressed! It is the story of Tony Stark/Iron Man, a billionaire industrialist whose company specializes in weapons development. He is captured by terrorists and forced to build a weapon for them. Instead, he develops a suit for himself that allows him to escape. He is changed by the experience and ends up setting out to undo the destruction that the distribution of his weapons has caused.

Academy Award Nominee Robert Downey, Jr. plays Tony Stark/Iron Man with humor and wit in a way that attracts the audience to him. Academy Award Winner Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pepper Potts. She was surprisingly likable in this character. I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy her in an action movie setting, but she was great! Academy Award Nominees Terrance Howard and Jeff Bridges also offer performances that fit very well in the theme, while also bringing a higher level to the movie than what I expected.

It felt more sophisticated than a normal comic book movie, such as Spiderman, but with Director Jon Favreau, it definitely has the humor to appeal to a wide audience. I highly recommend this movie for anyone!
