Dane Cook

Some days I have YouTube nights and just watch a bunch of videos.
This is one of those nights.

[warning - profanity - just felt like i needed to throw that in there]

OH my gosh - hilarious

Ray Lamontagne

Ray Lamontagne is one of my favorite musicians. If you haven't heard his stuff, you should really check it out. Here is a video:

Here are the lyrics to that song [Hold You In My Arms]:

When you came to me with your bad dreams and your fears
It was easy to see that you'd been crying
Seems like everywhere you turn catastrophe it reigns
But who really profits from the dying
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you forever
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you in my arms forever

When you kissed my lips with my mouth so full of questions
It's my worried mind that you quiet
Place your hands on my face
Close my eyes and say
Love is a poor man's food
Don't prophesize
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you forever
And I could hold you in my arms
I could hold you forever

So now we see how it is
This fist begets the spear
Weapons of war
Symptoms of madness
Don't let your eyes refuse to see
Don't let your ears refuse to hear
Or you ain't never going to shake this sense of sadness
I could hold you in my arms
I could hold on forever
And I could hold you in my arms
I could hold forever

And these are the lyrics to another of my favorite songs by him[Empty]:

she lifts her skirt up to her knees
walks through the garden rows with her bare feet laughing
I never learned to count my blessings
I choose instead to dwell in my disasters
I walk on down the hill through grass grown tall and brown
and still it's hard somehow to let go of my pain
on past the busted back of that old and rusted cadillac
that sinks into this field collecting rain
will I always feel this way?
so empty, so estranged...

of these cutthroat busted sunsets, these cold and
damp white mornings I have grown weary
if through my cracked and dusty dime-store lips
I spoke these words out loud would no one hear me?
lay your blouse across the chair, let fall the flowers from your hair
and kiss me with that country mouth so plain
outside the rain is tapping on the leaves
to me it sounds like they're applauding us the quiet love we make
will I always feel this way?
so empty, so estranged...

well I looked my demons in the eyes, laid bare my chest, said do your best to destroy me
you see, I been to hell and back so many times
I must admit you kind of bore me
there's a lot of things that can kill a man
there's a lot ways to die, yes and some already dead that walk beside me
there's a lot of things I don't understand, why so many people lie,
it's the hurt I hide that fuels the fire inside me

will I always feel this way?
so empty, so estranged...

it's the hurt i hide that fuels the fire inside me.

...

i like that.

Rob Thomas - Meet the Robinson

This song was at the end of Meet the Robinsons. It is super cheesy, but so cute!! I wanted you to hear it and all I could find was the music video.

These are the lyrics:

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don't you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

let it slide,
let your troubles fall behind you
let it shine
until you feel it all around you
and i don't mind
if it's me you need to turn to
we'll get by,
it's the heart that really matters in the end

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
but these small hours,
these small hours still remain

all of my regret
will wash away some how
but i can not forget
the way i feel right now

in these small hours
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away but these small hours
these small hours, still remain,
still remain
these little wonders
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away
but these small hours
these little wonders still remain

Um, I love Comments

So I love comments. I get really excited when people leave comments on my blog. But according to a recent study, 90% of online community users are lurkers and just read with very little to no contribution. Only 9% contribute a little bit and 1 % are active contributors. And seeing how some of my friends have recently made blogs, I'm thinking we could all use some advice for how to get more comments!!

Favorite Friend Quote of the Day 4-14-2007

"She reminds me of Katie Holmes, you know, before Tom Cruise sucked out her soul."
-Tina Howard

[This was a comment on my post about Prince William and Kate Middleton.]

Prince William single again

Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton broke up. They've been dating for 5 years.

Our Prejudices, Ourselves

I am a Christian. I strive to focus on Christ and aim in His direction in every aspect of my life. I realize that my personal beliefs differ from many. But I also realize that many of my fellow Christians have butchered the name of Christ in prejudice, racism and bigotry. I don't believe Jesus would have treated people with prejudice. I believe He would have spoken louder than any against it. Not that he would have encouraged sin, but he would have encouraged love and grace and the opportunity for hope in all of us that we can rise above ourselves and embrace each other, even those who don't agree with us. Because the beauty of Christianity is the choice to accept it or not. And some people don't. And that is okay. I will continue to hope that all will accept it because I want that sort of peace and grace for everyone. But I won't force it. Hopefully my life and my heart speaks loud enough for people to see the grace of God. I am not perfect. I have made some horrible mistakes in my life, but I am keeping my head up because I don't believe I am defined by the dark moments of my life. Why are so many Christians so quick to embrace the hypocrites and so quick to spit on those who have simply decided not to follow Christ? Everyone has the choice to follow Him or not. And maybe this is stepping outside the box a little and will ruffle some feathers, but call it what you will. I don't believe that being gay means that you can't be a Christian. There are way too many other people in the church living lives filled with sins and hypocrisy that offend me much more than homosexuality.

Anyway, that's my soapbox for the day. I found this at Perez Hilton. Harvey Fierstein [you may remember him from Mrs. Doubtfire], an actor and playwright, wrote this which was published in The New York Times. Click here to read it.

And Janine is pretty!! Check our her self portrait and the blog about it!
And Bobby was absolutely wonderful last night!! If you haven't seen it, you should. I will be posting later about my thoughts on Bobby Kennedy. It plays at the end of the movie Bobby and the way it was done in the movie, it brings you to tears.

Goodbye, Haley!!

Don't even try to act like that facial hair isn't just plain nasty.

At least Haley is gone now.

Perez Hilton

I love Perez Hilton. If you don't read his blog everyday, you should. It's very funny.

This is very exciting!!

This is very true.

And this is kind-of disturbing.

5K for Chrysalis House

Several people from my office are going to be participating in the 5K Run to benefit Chrysalis House.

Chrysalis House is a substance abuse program for women and their children. The Run will be held on April 28 at Coldsteam Park in Lexington, KY. It is $20 per adult and $10 per middle or high school student. If you want to participate, sign up here! Let me know!! You can walk with me!! I will be walking/jogging. There will be no running for me.

Hopefully I'll see you there!!

Latin Sanjaya

Dear Sanjaya,

You are awful. Please shave that pre-pubescent excuse for hair off of your face. You look like a fourteen year old girl (with a drawn-on mustache). And you sing like one too.

Love,

Cameron

Ring of Fire

Johnny Cash's house burned down today! It's so sad!! He lived there from the late 60's to his and June's deaths in 2003. The house is currently owned by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.
