I am SOOOO excited about the Oscars tomorrow night!! I spent the day today preparing for my party!! I bought the stuff for my swag bags, the prizes for my games, the stuff for my cupcakes & the stuff for my drinks! I got the decorations last week!! I've been trying to figure out my award predictions, but it's hard this year since I haven't seen many of the movies! I have to just go by what I've heard! I'm going to print out a list of the things the movies have won so far so that the people playing my ballot game will have an idea! I'm very excited!!!

Also - I plan on live-blogging the Oscars tomorrow night!! Or at least live-blogging as I watch them, which might be on DVR...haven't decided yet. We'll see how the party goes!!

American Idol...

Is anyone else severely disappointed in American Idol this season?? I am just really not happy with it! Last week was just awful. I actually liked Andrew Garcia, even though the judges didn't really. But this week, I just don't like anybody! We'll see how the girls go tonight, but it's really not fun to watch it this year.

Lou & Lee Headband

I have recently discovered that there are several places on Etsy that I really like! I bought Isis some headbands from Hairblooms, I like the adult headbands at Lou and Lee and I've gotten some recycled scrabble necklaces from HomeStudio. I've never really spent a lot of time looking around on Etsy, though. After starting to read Dear Baby, I've been motivated! She finds such cute things for her daughter on Etsy! I need to start spending some more time on there!

What stores do you like on Etsy?? Give me some suggestions!!!

Water for Elephants

Looks like I need to start reading Water for Elephants! I've had the book sitting next to my bed for months, but haven't read it yet! Now it's going to be a movie with Robert Pattinson, Reese Witherspoon & Christoph Waltz! I will start reading it ASAP!!

The Big Bang Theory

My dad brought over his first 2 seasons of The Big Bang Theory! It is my new favorite thing!! In the first 3 episodes of Season 1, I laughed so hard!! I'm on episode 6 or 7 right now and I still love it!! I'm making Lewis watch them with me now! Sheldon is my favorite!!!

Third Annual Oscar Party!!!

I've been making preparations for my Oscar Party!! This year, I will have Oscar themed drinks & more games & prizes!! I found Oscar Bingo!! I'm very excited!!!

I haven't been able to see all the movies this year, but I'm still looking into who is predicted to win in each category. But really, I just enjoy the experience & having my friends over to watch the show!!

Breaking Dawn in 2 Movies

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows started it...now Breaking Dawn will be split into 2 movies as well. I kinda find that weird and not necessary. Maybe I need to read the book again and figure out where they would split it. I dunno, what do you think??

Staying Home...TV & Movies Galore!!

I'm staying home with a baby for the time being & since I've got things all up to date around my house & it takes me all of like 15 minutes to clean & start a load of dishes or laundry every day - AND because my baby is only 6 weeks old & therefore still sleeps a LOT, I have quite a bit of time at home to myself lately. I've been watching TV & movies, of course. What else would I be doing? Have you read my blog before? So here are some recommendations I have for those of you who may be interested in watching some shows!

First of all, Vampire Diaries is so awesome! It's even better after Christmas than it was before!! I love it so much! I was so surprised at first by how much I liked it, but now I've just settled into total fandom. It comes on Thursdays at 8 on the CW. And speaking of the CW, the new series Life Unexpected has had like 4 episodes so far and it's definitely one of my new favorites! The story is interesting & I like the actors! I've been excited & a little emotional at the end of every episode because it's so cute!

Cougar Town is another one that I just love! I laugh out loud at every episode! I watched Dirt because I tend to watch anything that the Friends cast is in now, but Dirt wasn't that awesome and it was canceled after 2 seasons. But Cougar Town is so funny!! I love it!

Those are the shows that have stuck out so far. I've been watching movies like Can't Hardly Wait, Twilight, Charlie Bartlett (LOVED this one!), Tristan & Isolde and The Sound of Music! I've got 17 Again set to DVR on Saturday when it plays on HBO! I've also got all the Olympics set to DVR next week! I'm excited about watching them! All kinds of TV & movies in my life right now, but honestly I'd love to go hang out with some other moms or people! But it's snowy & I'm stuck inside. Ah well, me & Isis are having fun!!

P.S. - I need Lexie & Sloan to get back together on Grey's Anatomy. I do not like this crap that's going on right now.

SAG Awards 2010

There were several things I really enjoyed about the SAG Awards this year! I loved Betty White receiving the Lifetime Achievement award! Her acceptance speech was so great! She's such a wonderful woman and she's so funny! I also loved Sandra Bullock's acceptance speech where she talked about how hot her husband is! I love them! I also love it that Michael C. Hall is finally getting recognized for his work in Dexter! And watching the awards cemented Lewis & my decision to start watching 30 Rock. Drew Barrymore was so sweet when she won for Grey Gardens. I was really happy that she's finally stepped out into something more serious and did a really fabulous job in it!

New Show

So I'm a stay-at-home mom for the next several months. I start my student teaching at the end of August. So I've got about 8 months staying at home with a baby girl! We're working on getting things into a good schedule and I spend quite a bit of time everyday doing stuff around the house or with Isis. But I always end up with at least a couple of hours where I could watch TV & the options on daytime TV are pretty awful. I've decided to start a new show on DVD! I need suggestions! Here are the ones I'm thinking about...

Mad Men
Glee
Smallville
Big Bang Theory

Also, Lewis & I are definitely going to start watching 30 Rock! So - which one of the ones above should I watch? This obviously depends on whether or not my Blockbuster has these. I know they have Mad Men & Glee. I watched the first several episodes of Glee, but I didn't give it a full chance, so I'll probably watch that one for sure at the very least because it's just one season.

Golden Globes...thoughts on the winners

I was really happy that Michael C Hall won for Best Actor in a TV series for Dexter! While I couldn't handle watching the show, I think he does a fabulous job in it and he hasn't ever won even though he's been nominated for the past several years! So I think it's awesome! And I was sad to see he's been suffering from Hodgkin's lymphoma, but happy to see that he's in remission!

I thought Mo'nique's acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for Precious was very sweet & sincere. I also loved Sandra Bullock's for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama! I think her & Jesse James are really cute & I loved hearing everyone speaking to their spouses! I also obviously think Meryl Streep is just fabulous & I was really excited about her win for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical! Others I was excited about were Drew Barrymore for Best Actress Mini-Series, Up in the Air for Best Screenplay, Chloe Sevigny for Best Supporting Actress in a Mini-Series, Christoph Waltz for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture & Robert Downey Jr. for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical.

Life Change...

She finally arrived!! Now we're just trying to get used to life with a newborn! If I can get past the hormones that are pretty much making me a walking basket-case right now, I think we'll be good to go! She's a beautiful, sweet little girl who is surprisingly laid-back! We couldn't be happier!
