Quote for the Day

"Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life."

17 Again Interviews

I am ridiculously excited about 17 Again. It's sort-of embarrassing. I love Matthew Perry and if he was the only one in it that I liked, I would be seeing it no matter what, BUT add Zac Efron, Michelle Trachtenberg, Leslie Mann and Hunter Parrish and I may just totally freak out like a 12 year old.

Watch these interviews!

Reuters talks to Robert Pattinson about New Moon

New pictures of Kristen Stewart & Taylor Lautner on the set of New Moon.

Kristen Stewart & her boyfriend pictured in Vancouver. Aw.

Robert Pattinson is in a new MTV film called How to Be - you can pre-order the soundtrack from Amazon. Rob has a song on the soundtrack. I'll probably buy it.

Quotes for the Day

"We know only too well that what we are doing is nothing more than a drop in the ocean. But if the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something."

Goodbye Kutner: SPOILER

While I was very sad about Kutner in last night's episode of House, when I read this today, it made me a lot more excited for Kal Penn! Although I'm still not excited about Kutner.

He left to take a job in the White House! He worked on the Obama campaign and he is now leaving to work for him again - in a way. He described his new position like this:
"the associate director in the White House office of public liaison. They do outreach with the American public and with different organizations. They're basically the front door of the White House. They take out all of the red tape that falls between the general public and the White House."

Buffy still rocks all the lists!

Eliza Dushku & David Boreanaz were on TV Guide's list of sexiest stars!

Buffy is #8 on the list of 20 All-Time Coolest Heroes in Pop Culture!

New Buffy Movie?

It's rumored that there is a new Buffy movie in the works. I hope it's true, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

Quotes for the Day

"Bottom line is even if you see ‘em comin’ you’re not ready for the big moments. No one asked for their life to change, not really, but it does. So what are we helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come, ya cant help that. Its what you do afterwards that counts. Thats when you find out who you are. You’ll see what I mean."
-Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping … waiting … and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir … open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us … guides us. Passion rules us all. And we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love … the clarity of hatred … the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion, maybe we’d know some kind of peace. But we would be hollow. Empty rooms, shuttered and dank. Without passion, we’d be truly dead."

Safety Jesus

This is a post from Ragamuffin Soul. I just really liked it. Made me think.

safe
Pronunciation:
\ˈsāf\
Function:
adjective
Inflected Form(s):
saf·er; saf·est
Date:
14th century
1: free from harm or risk : unhurt
2: secure from threat of danger, harm, or loss
3: affording safety or security from danger, risk, or difficulty

I have 3 kids, a wife, a mortgage (albeit in California), a car payment, and a really sad 403b.
If there was ever a dude who needed safety it’s me.
When I read the definition above it creates a bit of nausea in my gut and even behind my man boobs.
The nausea is not because I do not think I need to provide safety for my family. I will protect them to my death.
But I do not want my kids to see their dad live a life where he never had to protect them.
Where his faith kept him safe.
I look at the modern day western church.
Not all, but most.
I think of the safety that is her walls.
I then think of the man and my Lord Jesus.
I think of the risk, danger, and harm that he endured.
I take both those pictures and place them side by side.

Something is wrong. Something is off.
Something is DANGEROUSLY missing.

100 Things to Do When You're Upset

I like finding stuff like this. It's always interesting to go back and look at when you need it. My favorites on the list are:
  • Eat the best chocolate you can get your hands on. In bed. Or in the bath.
  • Turn up music you really love. Play it so loudly that it soaks in through your skin. Dance in your pajamas. Feel the pain lift.
  • Indulge in your “guilty pleasures”, whatever they are. (Old episodes of America’s Next Top Model, ginger ale, chocolate cake, romantic comedies, etc.)
  • Write a gruelingly personal entry for your blog dissecting every aspect of the situation which has upset you so much. Post it, don’t post it, whatever, just get it out of your system.
(I actually do that last one a lot. I write all kinds of personal posts that I never actual put up on my blog. I just need to get it out sometimes. Organize those thoughts.)

Quotes for the Day

“My goal is not to wake up at age 40 with the bitter realization that I have wasted my life on a job I hate because I was forced to decide on a career in my teens.”
-Daria Morgendorffer

"Everyone has their weak spot. The one thing that, despite your best efforts, will always bring you to your knees, regardless of how strong you are otherwise."
-Sarah Dessen

Top 100 Movies

I used to have a list of my Top 100 movies - not necessarily based on merit, but on how much I like them. Well so many fabulous movies have come out since then that I need to start working on a new list! I will let you know when I'm done, but as you should know by now, I'm mildly OCD and definitely completely crazy about movies so this is going to take me a while!

In the meantime, check out Yahoo's new list of the 100 Movies to See Before You Die!
(Spoiler: Most of those movies will not be on my list. Sorry.)

Johnny Depp in The Rum Diary

Johnny Depp is starring in a film called The Rum Diary based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson. Depp plays Paul Kemp. Apparently it's going to be pretty crazy with lots of rum and LSD. Clearly Johnny Depp will be beautiful in it no matter what. I'm interested. Are you?

I Love You, Man Outtakes!

I thought this movie was completely hilarious! I'm seeing it again this weekend with my husband and some friends! I think Paul Rudd & Jason Segel are so funny!!

"When someone you love dies, you don’t lose them all at once. You lose them in pieces over time, like how the mail stops coming."
