Donald Miller at Southland!!!

Donald Miller is one of my & Lewis' favorite Christian authors! We are currently reading through one of his books together that is about fathers called To Own a Dragon. I've posted on him before. He absolutely blows me away! And I just found out that he is going to be speaking at my church on March 13 & 14! If you're interested at all in hearing someone speak who will speak at your level, no matter where you are - you need to come hear him.

Southland Christian

Check out some posts I've written that mention him:
The Open Table
Blue Like Jazz: The Movie

Church...

This Sh*t is Awesome! - Perry Noble, Senior Pastor of NewSpring Church in South Carolina

Excerpt...
  • People who cuss should be welcome at church…
  • So should those who smell like smoke…
  • So should those who smell like alcohol…
  • So should those who do whatever sin you do not do…
When we get into the business of placing stipulations as to who can and cannot come to a service based on a morality code (OR a dress code) we have COMPLETELY lost sight of why Jesus came and died on a cross.

Up in the Air

So as I look forward to my Annual Oscar Party, I've been investigating the movies that are in contention for Best Picture! I'll be posting more about this later, but as of right now, the movie to really see is Up in the Air with George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick! Check out these reviews...

Quote for the Day

“Often people attempt to live their lives backwards; they try to have more things, or more money, in order to do more of what they want, so they will be happier. The way it actually works is the reverse. You must first be who you really are, then do what you need to do, in order to have what you want.”
- Margaret Young

Quote for the Day

“‎We have all known two kinds of teachers. Those that teach from the mind and those that teach from the heart; the teacher who teaches from the mind teaches, the one who teaches from the heart touches, and we are transformed forever ……..”

Dear John

I loved this book!!! I cried so much in the end!! I'm excited to see the movie!!

If you haven't read the book yet, read it before seeing the movie!!

Remember Me

I liked the New Moon movie better than Twilight, but I still don't think Robert Pattinson was the best pick for Edward. BUT, I think he looks pretty great for this movie!!!

What do you think??
